Black Bear/Imogene Passes

Description:
What a spectacular trip this is! Begin on the Million Dollar Highway passing through the ghost town of Ironton and Red Mountain to the top of Red Mountain Pass, then to the top of Black Bear Pass at 12,810 feet where we can look down on the town sites of Summit, Congress, and the Telluride Ski area. We wind our way down past the Black Bear Mine, down the face of Ingram Peak across the infamous "steps" past Ingram Falls and Bridal Veil Falls into Telluride. In the afternoon we move up Savage Basin to Imogene Pass through the amazing ruins of the ghost town of Tomboy. From there we climb to 13,114' at Imogene Pass with incredible vistas of mountain peaks and alpine lakes. We descend through the famous Camp Bird gold mining district past the Yellow Rose Mine, beautiful waterfalls and wonderous flowers in season. This is an all day tour from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. rich in history and old mining sites dating back to the 1800s.
