Description: This is a spectacular trip which cuts off in Ironton Park then up past the old Corkscrew turntable over the sulfur run-outs, past the remains of the Midnight, Earl and Caronate King mines to the top of Corkscrew Pass between Red Mountain 1 and 2 at an elevation of 12,220 feet. The color of the red mountains is astonishing and if time permits we will make the famous Hurricane Pass overlooking the headwaters of the Uncompahgre River. Allow up to 4 hours for this tour. |
